And again it was cloudy and not warm enough for swimming until the sun came out just before we had to leave. The next morning we found out that the hotel pool which we'd been told would be open Thursday would not open until 4pm ! By then we'd be home. We did other things that day and the adults, except myself the babysitter, went to the casino.

Then, Wednesday the weather was colder and windy with rain predicted so the girls again had to postpone swimming until tomorrow. Well, an additional Grand Casino RV park huge inconvenience and stupidity is that though the 'bath house' facility is very nice, as my wife discovered when she first needed to use it THEY CLOSE AND LOCK IT UP AT 7PM EVERY EVENING !!! This was quite a problem during our whole stay, and being nearby we saw many others come and pull on the doors in dismay to find them locked. Our camper is a small one and we are not hard core campers and has a non functional bathroom which we use for storage and is just fine because we stay in places where there are showers and running water and flush toilets, which as a rule are open and available 24 hours. It was a comfortable place for us all to hang out by the camper and cook so we did that a lot. The first big disappointment was to discover after arriving that the hotel pool was closed for 'maintenance' (someone else told us it was really due to a staff shortage, even though no lifeguard or staff is even at the pool) until Thursday, the day we were all leaving ! We had never stayed at the RV park before, which seemed very nice and large and well maintained, and the pool looked great too, however we were informed that the RV park's outdoor pool is closed at 7pm every day ! Why so early ? This was too early for us after getting everything set up and dinner. Since the ladies love casinos and our two families' three young daughters love swimming pools, when finding out that the Grand Casino swimming pools, both the hotel's indoor pool and the RV park's outdoor pool were OPEN again now after this COVID shutdown, being certain again to verify this while making the reservations for the July 12th through the 15th (2021), this seemed to be a great plan.

As we have been long time GC members and have had many great hotel and casino visits in the past, and we also have a camper, we came up with the idea that their family could stay in the hotel while we stayed in the RV park. Grand Casino Hotel and RV Park My wife and her cousin from out of state wanted to have a nice get together of our families before their family moved to Hawaii.
